Sandwiches are an easy and quick way to prepare food for lunchbox on-the-go. Sandwiches allow you to put different fillings, but no matter how creative you are, sooner or later you will realise that you cannot live on sandwiches alone.

The Lunchbox healthy system is designed to provoke you to put a variety of food in the individual inner containers – add salad, fruit and nuts or something sweet for luxury. A balanced diet includes 5 main elements: vegetables, fruits, grains, proteins, dairy and fats. A sandwich can include all five, but in a broken proportion. This is why we recommend not to be tempted to remove part of the inner boxes and fill the Lunchbox with sandwiches only. Try to fill the Lunchbox with varied and colorful food items.

Each of the inner boxes prompts you to put the right food in the right amount. Remove one of the inner boxes and you now have an unbalanced lunch and portion control.

A chicken sandwich is a great way to organise your cooking for the week. Buy a whole chicken. Save the drumsticks to roast during the week for a quick dinner. Boil the rest in a large amount of water with added onion, carrot and spices (thyme, oregano, sage) to get a delicious broth. Make chicken soup with some of the cooked meat, and use the rest for a chicken sandwich. If you have leftover Sunday roast chicken, use it.
