Greek pastítsio is a great way to use ground meat during the busy week. In this recipe we have used the pre-prepared meat that we have made on Sunday for our Turkey balls and just skipped the seasoning in the pan.
Pastitsio recipe origin is Greece (Greek: παστίτσιο, pastítsio) and is a Greek baked pasta dish with ground meat and béchamel sauce.
Pastitsio takes its name from the Italian pasticcio, a large baked savory pie which may be based on meat, fish, or pasta. Many Italian versions include a pastry crust, some include béchamel and all of them look like “a delicious mess”.

The traditional Greek pastitsio is made with minced lamb but this lighter version is just as tasty.
We used the lovely colored Arcobaleno Pasta for fun and emotional touch but you can use any macaroni you have.
The recipe makes 6 servings: 4 for dinner and 2 for kids Lunchbox as the Pastisio is also a great Lunchbox food even cold. So pack the L container, put in the fridge and you are ready for the next day Lunch!
Enjoy!
