Venetian Biscuits Pevarini

Instructions

1. Melt the butter with the sugar and honey and a little salt and powdered spices. Mix well to amalgamate all ingredients.
2. Add the flour and yeast. Blend well to form firm dough. Add a drop of water if necessary.
3. Leave to rest for half an hour.
4. Roll the dough to thickness of 5 mm over lightly floured surface. Use the tip of a knife to cut the dough into preferred shapes.
5. Place the biscuits over buttered baking paper on a tray, place in the oven, pre-heated to 180 °C and bake for 10-12 minutes.
6. Pevarini are best enjoyed a few days after baking, accompanied by a glass fine red wine. They keep for a quite long time in you store them in a glass jar.
